First ThursdayThe December 3 concert will be streamed live at http://www.rdpl.org/events/liveAtRDPL at 12:15 p.m. MST

Mark your calendars: on the first Thursday of every month in 2009 we'll have free chamber music concerts in the Snell Auditorium over the lunch hour (12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m.)

Café Noir is a sponsor of the series: they'll be providing free coffee and tea for each event. Bring your lunch (or buy one at Café Noir) and get re-caffeinated while you acquire a little culture.

Our next concert on Thursday, December 3, will feature the talented young piano students of Dr. Ted Isenor.

eAudiobooks are now available at Red Deer Public Library.

netlibraryeAudiobooks are now available at RDPL through OCLC NetLibrary. Library members now have anytime, anywhere access to nearly 2,000 different eAudiobook titles.

eAudiobooks are books that have been read aloud and recorded. "Audiobooks, in the form of cassettes and CDs, have been popular in libraries for many years," says Dean Frey, Director of Red Deer Public Library "The ability to download eAudiobooks from the Web is being embraced by long-time listeners as well as new listeners who want material for their portable media devices."

A popular format in many libraries, eAudiobooks allow library users to listen to materials on-the-go. eAudiobooks can be checked out  from a personal computer via the library's Web site, 24/7 and they are automatically returned to the library at the end of the checkout period. eAudiobooks can be downloaded or played on any desktop, laptop or portable device that supports Windows Media Player version 9 and above. Users can also transfer favorite titles to a wide range of portable devices, including portable music players, portable media centers and more.
